The Tyler Universal Fast Rope Release Hook is a universal helicopter fast rope hook designed for mounting on existing hoist receiver tubes or repelling arms located at the large helicopter side doors or rear ramps. The standard Tyler Fast Rope Hook designed for the Eurocopter AS350/355 or the MD-500 series helicopters, where the pilot or co-pilot would have to operate the hook with a cable and a handle lever. The Tyler Universal Fast Rope Hook is designed for operation on large helicopters, and by a crewman at the rear ramp or door. The Fast Rope Release Hook is operated with a pull handle located at the rear of the Fast Rope Hook, and there is a two-position safety latch for both normal operations and a lockout pin for training exercises. The hook is specifically designed for fast-rope operations, and can be configured to either "release under load" or "lock under load" providing agencies and organizations with a choice depending on their safety priorities.
The Tyler Fast Rope Unit is a tactical helicopter fast rope unit designed for standalone use, or with Tyler helicopter frameworks and allows for personnel deployment in situations where the helicopter cannot safely land. There are units designed for both the Eurocopter AS-350/355 and the MD-500 helicopter series. The unit provides an overhead hook assembly which allows a quick and easy transition from the helicopter to either fast-rope or rappel. The hook is produced with a cable release that can eject the ropes once personnel reach the ground. This helps to provide a safe departure for the helicopter without the ropes attached. Tyler Technologies has worked in conjunction with a leading rope manufacturer to develop a new fast-rope specifically designed for tactical helicopter operations. This new rope is made to be nearly twice as light while still maintaining ample durability. The installation process for these units is designed to be quick and easy, with no tools required, which is ideal for emergency response.
